Capital Chicken & Waffles (CCW) is Washington DC’s first and only chicken and waffles food truck. Serving hungry patrons in and around the Nation’s Capital, CCW opened in January 2013 as one of only 19 food trucks chosen to serve during the Presidential Inauguration events. The truck, founded by 29-year-old entrepreneur Sharisse Barksdale, brings the classic combo of chicken and waffles to a city that was desperate for a taste of the South. Using social media outlets, such as Twitter and Facebook, the truck stays connected with its fans and followers to share updates about its location and to build excitement about events and special promotions. 

 

CCW is family owned and operated, both on the business end and in the day-to-day operations of the truck, and their love of food and one another shines through in their menu. While freshly made waffles and pan-seared chicken is of course the staple of the truck, CCW offers a host of other delicious options as well. From bite-sized waffle “Poppers”, to Mac and Cheese, Yams, Salads, and even homemade Banana Puddin’, CCW really hits the spot.
